New infrastructure increases capability for high quality dairy products

Four (4) new silos are being installed at our low-carbon, geothermally powered dairy factory at Mokai.

Capital Projects Manager, Patrick Edwards, said the new silos have been added to the company’s infrastructure to help meet customer demand for high quality dairy products.

"Three 20m3 silos and one 50m3 skim silo have been installed and are in the process of being piped up and wired to the UHT plant to enable the production of higher protein and higher quality UHT product for new and existing customers.

Despite some stormy spring weather, and a number of pandemic related delays the installation of the four new silos went to plan.

Later this month, an enormous 250,000 litre silo will arrive to accommodate our expanding demand for A2 milk."

Miraka would like to acknowledge our partners involved in supplying and installing the new silos - Tīra, DLP Construction, Dalton Electrical, RBM Engineering and TetraPak NZ
