Miraka dual fuel hydrogen milk tanker part of 2024 Taupō Santa Parade

Miraka is delighted to be supporting one of the most popular community and family events on the Taupō events calendar - the Tremains Taupō Santa Parade.
The parade will be held in Taupō on Sunday, 1st December at 2-00pm. It attracts thousands of locals and visitors.
The centre piece of our float is 'Aorangi', our enormous, Volvo dual-fuel, 700 horsepower, ‘green’ hydrogen Milk Collection Tanker – the 1st of its kind in NZ, which Miraka proudly launched in September.
Aorangi is designed to reduce carbon emissions by 35 per cent. The tanker travels approximately 165,000 kilometres a year. We're reducing our CO2 foot print by 35% when collecting milk with Aorangi. This is a good outcome for te taiao / our natural environment and our community.
