Miraka mourns passing of NZ dairy leader Colin Jones
Taupō low-carbon dairy company, Miraka, is mourning the passing of one of New Zealand’s most respected dairy industry leaders, Colin Jones ONZM.
Mr Jones was a co-founder and Executive Director of Global Dairy Network, a trading partner (and founding shareholder) of Miraka. He passed away on 1 January 2025.
Miraka Chief Executive, Karl Gradon said Mr Jones was widely acknowledged as one of the first people in New Zealand to explore and promote the sale of NZ dairy products in new markets.
“Colin has made a significant contribution to the development of global dairy trade relationships and opportunities for Aotearoa New Zealand.”
“He has been a driving force, laying an enduring foundation for future development and opportunities for our dairy trading nation.”
“Colin’s knowledge of the international dairy marketplace was simply outstanding. We will miss his expertise, wit and humour,” said Karl Gradon.
Miraka senior management will be attending the service to celebrate Mr Jone’s life in Auckland on Friday.
