Big Crowd at Annual Pōwhiri welcoming new suppliers, staff and families

A big crowd attended the Annual Miraka Pōwhiri which was held at Oruanui Marae, north-west of Taupō yesterday.
Miraka Kaihautū, Eileen Bowden, said it was another annual highlight event on the Miraka calendar.
"Every year, we formally welcome our new farmer suppliers, staff and key stakeholders in line with our Tikanga Miraka or the "Miraka Way" of doing things properly," said Eileen Bowden.
The crowd included more than 50 new staff (and their families), 18 new farmer supplier representatives and guests.
CEO of B Corporation Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand, Andrew Davies, flew in from Melbourne for the pōwhiri.
New farmer suppliers representatives included Chairpersons, Directors and Trustees from Te Waiti Lands Trust, Whakatohea Maori Trust Board, Otanemutu Lands Trust and Richland Farm Ltd.
Later that day, many of the guests went on to attend the Annual Miraka Suppliers' Dinner to celebrate the top performing farms for the 2023/24 season. under Te Ara Miraka, the company's farming excellence programme.
